The river is a rising! In recent years, springtime in the Platte Valley meant that homeowners and businesses near the river better have sand bags ready. Like last winter, however, the snowpack this year wasn’t as great and we think it’s safe to say we won’t be having as wet a season. Current river reports show the river is at 6.5 feet (8.5 feet is considered flood stage).
Local fisherman report that the river is high and muddy due to the spring runoff, but that will taper off in no time and prime fishing season will be upon us.
In the meantime, bring the kids on over Saturday, June 8th for the annual Kid’s Fishing Day. This is a free event for the kids held at the Saratoga Resort & Spa ponds, with prizes and lunch included. Kid’s Fishing Day is sponsored by the National Fish Hatchery, Saratoga Lions Club, and Saratoga Resort & Spa.
