The Cook’s Corner
In the month of February we have that special holiday known as Valentine’s Day, when love is in the air. Throughout time man has sought potions and foods to increase their chances of love and passion. Foods such as oysters, chocolates and strawberries have been associated with sexuality throughout history because of their appearance, texture and taste.
In popular culture alcohol is considered part of the list releasing inhibitions and leaving one open to suggestion. But the most effective of them all is the natural chemistry that sparks between two people. Don’t be surprised if you find a hint of a magical potion in what you eat or drink this Valentine’s!
Romantic foods don’t have to be limited to oysters and wine. Not only are there a whole host of foods purported to be aphrodisiacs, but there are also foods to contribute to the mood. For example, spicy food will get your heart rate going and make your cheeks flush. Other foods can be lovingly hand fed to each other creating intimate moments. Just be sure not to over indulge as you don’t want to fall asleep after eating and ruin the romance.
