When embarking on a snowmobile ride, whether it’s just for the afternoon or an all day excursion, ask yourself if you’re prepared to spend the night in the elements. Before you head out to play on your snowmobile you should have a survival and safety pack ready to go. You never know when weather will turn bad, a machine breaks down, or an unfortunate accident occurs and you are stranded in the wild. The key is to always be prepared!
Here at the Saratoga Resort and Spa we sell survival packs that have all the necessary equipment one would need to survive a night or two on the mountain. Packs include fire starters, a solar blanket, a water boiler, multipurpose tool kit, shovel, first aid kit and much more.
Another great survival tool is a GPS Messenger. If you get stranded or lost the ‘S.O.S.’ or ‘help’ features will alert emergency services of your location. They also offer a tracking feature that enables friends or family back home to track your location while on your snowmobile trip.
So remember, before you snowmobile make sure you’re prepared for emergencies and always let friends and family members know where you are headed and when you plan to return. Safety, is no accident!
