You may recognize the name from our newsletters Cooks Corner section. She is the talented and hardworking chef of the Silver Saddle Restaurant.
Hope Ratliff has been working at the Resort for the past 4 years. She was born in Denver, CO but grew up in parts of Colorado, Arizona and Washington. She attended college in Arizona for a year before transferring to Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. She studied psychology before pursuing her true passion in culinary arts.
After college Hope traveled and lived both nationally and internationally before settling in Saratoga. Her family has been living in the Platte Valley for 94 years and she is happy to have come home to permanently reside.
She has one son, who is also a chef, and a granddaughter who both live in Michigan. In her spare time her interests are mountain climbing, swimming, ancient history, book collecting, antiques, restoration, geology and writing.
What she loves most about her job is the people she meets and works with. Sharing food, flavors, tastes and stories is always such a great experience. Food is a work of art, continually enriching all those it touches and she considers herself fortunate to be a part of it.
